Owners Rolf and Cindy Nelson
Using low-key, but high-impact leadership, Rolf and Cindy Nelson have developed a personal style when it comes to restaurant management. Chef Rolf, a graduate of the CIA, focusses on fresh, clean flavors; simplicity with a twist. Cindy, with her eye for detail, creates an environment where the service and ambiance are warm and welcoming. The Lumber Yard is the second restaurant for the Nelsons. They have owned and operated the Sconset Cafe on Nantucket Island for twenty years, while making their home in Amherst for the past decade. The Nelsons are thrilled to bring their unique style to their hometown, and to be able to celebrate their vision: community and food.
Executive Chef Chase Eozzo
Chef Chase received a bachelor's degree from New England Culinary Institute (NECI) in early 2014. Taking a holistic approach to the utilization of every ingredient allows him to pursue his goal of bringing out the full potential of each element of a dish. Working in a number of unique settings, from a 200-seat restaurant in Silicon Valley focusing on local farm fresh ingredients, to a small family owned farm to table restaurant in Wells Beach Maine has shaped Chase's interpretation and outlook on what it means to create quality food.
"When you look at an ingredient, it is not just a piece of a recipe, but has its own history and influences. To truly bring that recipe to its peak in flavor you must understand each component, where it’s from, what it grows around and what it can bring to the table."
