Using low-key, but high-impact leadership, Rolf and Cindy Nelson have developed a personal style when it comes to restaurant management.  Chef Rolf, a graduate of the CIA, focusses on fresh, clean flavors; simplicity with a twist.  Cindy, with her eye for detail, creates an environment where the service and ambiance are warm and welcoming.  The Lumber Yard is the second restaurant for the Nelsons.  They have owned and operated the Sconset Cafe on Nantucket Island for twenty years, while making their home in Amherst for the past decade.  The Nelsons are thrilled to bring their unique style to their hometown, and to be able to celebrate their vision: community and food.
